Wood countertops add a traditional warmth to your home that no other countertop can offer. Wood countertops can be constructed in many different species of wood, and construction stlyes to achieve the look you want.

 

Options - Choose from many options that make you counter truly custom:

 

  • Styles - Edge Grain, End Grain, and Flat Grain Plank

  • Finish - Minerial Oil, Tung Oil, Urethane

  • Edge Treatment - Eased, Bevel, Ogee, and Many More

  • Splash - Set On, Tile or Cove

Construction Styles

Edge Grain

 

  • Thin, randomly selected wood members, 1¾” wide, glued in parallel. Extra long tops may have butt joints.

  • Commercial grade tops are fabricated using both heart and sapwoods.

  • Thicknesses from 1½", 2¼", 3".

  • The finish is sealed and oiled, requiring regular oiling, as maintenance to ensure the wood does not dry out.

  • This type of top is perfect for chopping and food preparation.

  • Finish option - The tops receive 5 coats of Waterlox finish that requires occasional maintenance. It is water and stain resistant and may be recoated as needed.

  • Finish Option - Marine Urathane

  • An incredible working surface for the professional or semi-professional cook

End Grain

 

  • End grain tops are your traditional butcher block style. Best construction style for those who plan to cut directly on their top.

  • Vertical facing wood members, typically 1¾” x 1¾”, that look like offset squares.

  • Traditionally used as a chopping surface and for food prep.

  • Thickness 2¼", 3", 4", 7".

  • These tops are Sealed and Oiled and require weekly oiling as maintenance.

  • Natural color only, no staining.

  • These are also available as “point to point” glue up, enabling a checkerboard effect.

Flat Grain Plank

 

  • 3" to 6" planks best display the beautiful cathedral pattern in wood.

  • Tight knots, some light grain and pith marks are acceptable

  • Each board runs the entire length of the countertop, no butt joints.

  • The tops receive 5 coats of Waterlox finish that requires occasional maintenance. It is water and stain resistant and may be recoated as needed

  • Finish Option - Marine Urathane

Bamboo

STRAND BAMBOO

WORKTOP / COUNTERTOP

 

  • Unfinished with strand bamboo face and traditional bamboo core.

  • 36" x 72" X 1-1⁄2"

  • Teragren's Strand worktops, made with our proprietary Xcora™ technology, are extremely durable — 154% harder than red oak. These worktops are ideal for any application where traditional hardwood surfaces might be used-table tops, desk tops, and other residential or commercial installations.

TRADITIONAL BAMBOO

  • Unfinished or prefinished with vertical grain face and strand bamboo core

  • 30" x 96" X 1-1⁄2" OR 36" x 72" X 1-1⁄2"

  • Teragren's Traditional bamboo worktop is ideal for any home or retail décor such as kitchen countertops or restaurant table tops. Extremely durable — 25% harder than red oak. The traditional bamboo face with contrasting strand bamboo core provides a beautiful visual accent to any kitchen or bathroom design or other interior application.

  • Prefinished with a food-safe mineral oil/beeswax finish. Also available unfinished.

BAMBOO PARQUET

  • Unfinished or prefinished end-grain parquet bamboo hardwood

Teragren's hard and durable alternative to traditional butcher block delivers an intriguing and subtle parquet pattern of end-grain bamboo into modern kitchens. Our furniture-grade end-grain butcher block is made with a formaldehyde-free and food-safe adhesive perfect for table tops as well as kitchen counters and islands. Available unfinished or prefinished with a food-safe mineral oil/beeswax finish.

  • Food safe—ideal for cutting sufaces and food prep areas.
